What do you think about it? What is the teacher trying to say? In your own words explain what "the main event" is.

I think this is a well written, truly amazing article. The man is trying to say that the whole point of school is not academics, it is overcoming adversities, and to keep getting up even when you are better down trying to focus on a million things at once. The 'main event" is exactly what I said before, you have to be tested and keep getting up and overcoming adversity. You can't give up because the whole school system is a test about overcoming adversity.

Stop Motion Number 2

My groups stop motion is about stack-able cups. Our plan is to stack them one by one and take a picture. Then take them apart and do it again. Today we are filming, and we should be able to finish if we can get to work quickly. We are going to go out to the hall and film on a table, we will be using a tripod for this project, and Cody's phone will be used.

Answer the following questions thoroughly on your blog.

  1. What was your stop motion animation about? Why did you choose your video to be about this? Was it because it was easy, because it would be fun, or it would be challenging? Explain your reasoning behind your project (and be honest).
My Stop Motion was about the classic video game Pong. I choose this because I thought it was a simple idea that I could do well. I drew a lot of inspiration after watching human Tetris. I think that it was really easy sometimes, but really challenging at other points (like trying to upload photos to drive).

     2. If you could rate your stop motion on a 1-10 scale. 1 being low effort and no very good and 10            being out of this world/mind-blowing, how would you rate your project? Explain why.

I think I would rate my stop motion a 7 because I put a lot of work into it, while it may not have been world changing, I thought that the camera was very still and it flowed smoothly.

     3. In hindsight, what would you do differently the second time around? Better lighting? Time                 management? Explain yourself.

If I could change anything about my presentation, I would have not had the game end in a tie. That is really boring and I wish I hadn't done that. Another thing I would change would be that I wish I would have done it on construction paper and set it up on a wall so it was easier to move.

     4. Explain what makes your stop motion animation unique. How do you believe you thought                   "outside of the box" on this project?

I though that I went out of the box when it came to special effects. I used one in particular which was where the computer only sees the outline of each object. It ended up looking very nice, and gave it a little bit more of flare.

     5. What grade do you feel you deserve on this project? Explain your reasoning.

I feel that I deserve a 92-94 on this project. While it may not of been mind-blowing or world changing, I did everything on the rubric. I feel like my biggest weakness is my color scheme I choose. It doesn't fit with a classic pong machine.

Blog Post of the Day:
3 day weekend... how was it? Give me a good story or something funny that happened this weekend.

This weekend I got to experience something, that is very interesting. I got to vaccinate new born calves, and if they were boys we neutered them. First we had to separate the the calves from their mother, which they did not like very much. Then we vaccinated the mothers, that didn't take long because they were calm. Them we drove the mothers 30 minutes away to a open pasture. While we were doing that the others got all the calves together and ready to vaccinate. When we got back we vaccinated the calves. They were very unhappy because they didn't know what was going on. But once they were done they calmed down a lot. Finally we loaded up the calves to take to their mothers, to roam the pastures all summer long. An interesting thing that happened while we were doing this was, I got to see a cow give birth.

Blog Post of the Day:
Tell me ALL about what your idea is for your stop-motion animation. I need detail. Who is going to help you take photos? What props do you need? Where do you plan on shooting? EXPLAIN everything

My idea for stop motion is to use post it notes to play the classic Atari game pong. I have drawn out the board and watched how the ball moves for 10 minutes. I will be assisted by the lovely Vito Mannino and Cody Zakeri. The props I need are white post it notes and a black piece of construction paper. The sticky notes will be cut into rectangles and one into a square. I will make score numbers out of sticky notes. The final score will be 5-3 the person on the left will win. I plan on shooting on a wall and using a tripod for a steady image. I will be taking the pictures with my phone. Today I will be watching games f pong to observe the board and every little aspect of Pong.

Tell me all about your weekend and please share photos!
This weekend I went to the Lake of the Ozarks. I drove 3 hours down with my dad and when we got there I was so exhausted from driving I fell asleep. When I woke up Saturday morning my friends and I went out on our golf carts and drove around. We found a really muddy trail and went riding down it. Once we were done we realized our golf carts were
covered in mud. We went back home and cleaned them. We then started a huge leaf bonfire and roasted hot dogs and made smores. Later that night we watched there final four. The next day I drove 3.5 hours back home. I was so tired from driving I slept from 4 to seven then I woke up ate dinner and went to bed.
